Malé, Maldives- Ibrahim Nasreen, widely known as Nattu, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM), following the resignation of Mohamed Saeed last week. Nasreen, who previously served as the director of sales and marketing at PSM, is stepping into the role after Saeed’s brief five-month tenure.
Nasreen holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in service innovation from the College of Innovation at Thammasat University (CITU) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Limkokwing. He brings nearly nine years of experience working at PSM, adding significant expertise in both media and management.
In addition to his new position at PSM, Nasreen is a part-time lecturer at Maps College and Cyryx College and serves as a board member of the Maldives Ocean Plastic Alliance (MOPA), demonstrating his commitment to education and environmental causes.
Nasreen’s appointment marks the third change in leadership at PSM in just over a year. Mohamed Saeed’s resignation on December 18 followed a brief tenure, while Saeed’s predecessor, Zeena Zahir, also resigned in August 2023 after a similarly short term.
As the new managing director, Nasreen is expected to bring stability and a fresh perspective to the state broadcaster, which has seen frequent leadership changes in recent months.
