Saudi Arabia has introduced a new initiative called “Global Harmony” aimed at strengthening relations between expatriates and locals. The main objective of this initiative is to improve the quality of life through cultural advancement and to strengthen ties between the community, Indians, and other expatriates.
Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Minister of Media, Khaled bin Abdulqader Al-Ghamdi, said that this initiative will showcase the diverse cultures of expatriates and how they live in harmony. This initiative is part of the “Quality of Life” program to achieve the goals of Saudi Arabia’s “Vision 2030”.
Indian Ambassador Suhel Ajaz Khan said that Indians are the largest expatriate community in Saudi Arabia, with approximately 2.6 million people. He also noted that this number has increased by 200,000 in the past year alone.
Under the Global Harmony initiative, a festival is being held in Riyadh featuring cultural activities from countries such as India, Philippines, Indonesia, Pakistan, Yemen, Sudan, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Bangladesh, and Egypt.
This initiative is seen as an important step towards improving the quality of life for expatriates living in Saudi Arabia and celebrating their cultures.
