Tehran<\/strong> \u2013 Iran has sharply denounced early Sunday\u2019s U.S. air strikes on its nuclear facilities, calling them \u201ca betrayal of diplomacy\u201d and warning that the United States \u201cwill bear full responsibility for the consequences.\u201d<\/p>\n

The operation\u2014named Operation Midnight Hammer <\/em>targeted the Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan nuclear sites using stealth B\u20112 bombers armed with GBU\u201157A\/B 30,000\u2011lb bunker\u2011busting bombs, alongside Tomahawk cruise missiles launched from submarines<\/span>. Pentagon officials described it as the largest-ever B\u20112 mission, with \u201csevere damage\u201d inflicted on underground facilities in a carefully orchestrated 18\u2011hour sortie<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Citing Iran’s Foreign Ministry, the Atomic Energy Organization confirmed damage at the three sites but denied any radiation leaks, noting the sites had been evacuated in advance<\/span>. President Trump later declared in a national address that those facilities had been \u201ccompletely and totally obliterated,\u201d though Pentagon leaders cautioned that a full assessment would take time<\/span>.<\/p>\n

In swift response, Iran launched over 25 ballistic missiles toward Israel early Sunday, striking Tel Aviv, Haifa, Beer Yaakov, and Nes Ziona<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Emergency services reported around 86 people wounded\u2014including 23 moderately\u2014in several impacted locations<\/span>. In Tel Aviv, residential buildings and a nursing home suffered heavy damage; evacuations and bomb\u2011shelter use helped limit casualties<\/span>.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated:<\/span><\/p>\n
