Viksit Bharat Run 2025 Held in Hulhumalé to Promote Fitness and Friendship

The High Commission of India in Malé organized the Viksit Bharat Run 2025 today, attracting over 300 participants, including members of the Indian community, Maldivian friends, and prominent public figures.

The run started at the High Commission in Hulhumalé Phase I and concluded at the Harbour in Hulhumalé Phase II. Families, students, professionals, and senior citizens took part, showcasing energy, enthusiasm, and a shared commitment to fitness.

 

In his remarks, the High Commissioner of India highlighted that the event promotes not just physical well-being, but also unity, inclusivity, and strong India–Maldives people-to-people ties.

The run forms part of the High Commission’s ongoing initiatives from 15 September to 2 October to commemorate the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi, which include tree plantation drives, blood donation camps, sports competitions, school quizzes, and meetings with Indian exporters.

The High Commission expressed gratitude to all participants, volunteers, and the local community for their support, reiterating its commitment to fostering goodwill and healthy living.
