Malé, Maldives – President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has denied claims that he received a letter from former Housing Development Corporation (HDC) Chairman Ahmed Zuhoor regarding issues within the corporation.
Speaking to reporters outside the President’s Office, President Muizzu clarified that no such letter had been brought to his attention. “If I had received such a letter, I would have taken action much earlier,” he said, dismissing allegations of inaction on the matter.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to rooting out corruption and irregularities within his administration. “It is my pledge to ensure this government remains free from corruption and malpractice. If any illegal activities occur in any part of the government, action will be taken without hesitation,” he assured.
Dr. Muizzu also criticized past administrations for their handling of corruption cases, vowing that his government would adopt a zero-tolerance approach. “Unlike previous governments, we will not let corruption cases slide. Measures will be taken if anyone facilitates or engages in corrupt practices,” he stated.
The remarks come amid heightened public scrutiny of transparency and accountability in government institutions. President Muizzu reiterated that his administration remains committed to upholding these principles.
